Is it permissible in Islam for a man shave dense hairs?
  • Question:

I am having so many dense hairs on my chest, shoulder and back. Very soon I m getting married, in sha Allah. I want to look good attractive and beautiful for my wife. And I thinks that it will be alright if I get waxed off or shaved those hair. Please guide me, is it permissible in Islam...

Assalamu Alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh

    Thank you for your question.

For men, removing hair from arms, chest, back and legs is not recommended and should be avoided as this constitutes resembling feminine qualities. However if a man does remove the hair of arms and legs etc., it would not be considered prohibited. (Al Hindiyyah)

“The Messenger of Allah (pbuh) cursed men who imitate women and cursed women who imitate men”. (Bukhari).
The Messenger of Allah (pbuh) cursed a man who puts on the attire of women, and a woman who puts on the attire of men. (Abu Dawud).

    And Allah knows best.
