Good Deeds, Dua, Charity for Deceased Parent
  • Question:

My father passed away recently. I want to send some duas and other charity for him. Please tell the procedure - I am his adopted child.

Assalamu Alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh

    Thank you for your question.

We pray that Almighty Allah bless the deceased with the best of forgiveness, mercy and paradise.

You may supplicate to Almighty Allah, asking Allah to bless the deceased. The supplication can be in any language. You may also access prophetic supplications which are recorded in well known Islamic books.

Many Islamic jurists are of the view that rendering a charitable deed, praying to Allah for the rewards to be passed on to deceased is valid and acceptable.

Any believer can do this, regardless of whether they are biological children of the deceased or not.

    And Allah knows best.
