We Don't Want to Have Children - Is that Wrong in Islam?

    I am getting married in few months but I am very confused because I don't want any child I want to live free and happy with my wife. Is it wrong according to the teaching of the Islam to not want children?

    Having children is a great blessing and bonds families. Adherence to Islamic teachings, proper parenting and open communication with love and care will while living an Islamic lifestyle will keep your marriage stable and happy. Children will not be a block or obstacle to your happiness.

    “Marry those who are loving and fertile, for I will be proud of your great numbers [and large families].” (Abu Dawud)
    “My Lord! Grant me righteous offspring.” (Qur’an: 37:100)

    “And those who say: ‘Our Lord! Bestow on us from our wives and our offspring the comfort of our eyes.’” (Qur’an: 25:74)
