Children's Education on Sex & Relationships

    At what age should we begin to educate our children on more serious topics like sex and relationships and that they are forbidden before marriage etc.

    Thank you for your question.

    Obviously these topics are usually not addressed at all in Muslim households due to cultural reasons. But the “don’t talk about it” approach doesn’t work well in today’s world. Allah addresses guarding the private parts and other issues in the Quran explicitly, and so should we with out children. With that being said, there is no particular age where you start educating your kids about this. It’s important to have these conversations as they age and as you see their maturity grow.

    But not talking about it is no solution. One great article I’d recommend for this topic is this one:
